Scott Base is the station of the New Zealand Antarctic program. It is much smaller than its American neighbour, McMurdo Base, but is situated only a few kilometres away. Sometimes one gets invited by some friendly Kiwis to a few beers at night on their station, and there also is a lot of other traffic going on between the two bases. Even though cars drive on the left side of the road in New Zealand, the Kiwis drive on the right side of the road in Antarctica to avoid unpleasant incidents on the road between the two bases.
